Father’s Day – Keychains

We made beaded key chains for Father’s Day. We made one for Dad and one for Opa. I didn’t have any letter beads so I improvised by writing letters with sharpie on to some bigger beads I had and then sealing it with mod podge. Hopefully the writing will stay. At first he was putting beads on and then taking them off. I then added a knot to one end to help keep the beads on but then he would try and put beads on that end. Eventually Derek strung some coloured beads on the string that stayed. I then had him put on the letter beads making sure they ended up in order to spell the names. He then put a few more beads on to finish it off. I attached the beads and string to a key ring to turn it into a key chain. This was great for fine motor skills, letter and colour recognition all while creating a nice gift. Hopefully they like it.
