Bear Positions

This activity was not intentionally planned but I went with Derek’s lead and it involved into learning about positioning. I had planned for him to roll a dice and match bears but he was clearly not interested. He wanted to sort by colour and put the bears into the cups again. Then he wanted to put the bears to sleep so we turned the cups upside down and they became houses for the bears. We learned about the position of IN. Then it turned into learning about ON, BEHIND, BESIDE. I was actually really impressed when Derek said the bear was BETWEEN the house (cups) I had not realized he knew that position. This shows you that kids are always learning and you can find learning in everything you do.
