Alphabet Ice Cube Rescue

I put alphabet magnets in an ice cube tray and froze it overnight. We took this activity outside since it was a gorgeous warm day and there wouldn’t be a mess of water in the house. I gave Derek some tools and showed him how to hammer the ice cubes to rescue the letters. We then used a squeeze bottle of warm water to help melt the ice and get the letters out. After the letters were out of the ice we found they could stick to the metal railing on the stairs. When all the ice was melted we played in the water and made a hand print. You can freeze anything you want that is water proof in the ice cube tray for your little ones to rescue. You could even put a bunch of items into one container and have a larger block of ice to rescue.
