Sticker Lines

The goal is to cover the lines with stickers. This works on fine motor skills and hand eye coordination. This is also a good pre writing activity as they learn to follow lines. Whenever I’m working with stickers, I always make sure to remove the boarder to make the stickers easier to remove. Derek was able to do this activity but it didn’t hold his Interest. He just randomly put stickers, not really following the lines. He get distracted with the animals on the stickers and when he folded the sticker paper to get a sticker a few other stickers fell off and got on the floor so this distracted him for a bit. I had to keep reminding him to put the stickers on the lines. The intention and learning of the activity is great it just didn’t go over as well as I was hoping/expecting. Maybe I’m asking and expecting too much from a 2.5 year old.

Edit to add: after nap Derek wanted to go back and add some more stickers to the lines. Last two videos show that there was a bit more concentration and interest this time. Last picture shows the finished sticker lines.
